Assistant Professor & Programme Head, B.Des. Communication Design
Ms. Aditi Dutta is an Assistant Professor and Programme Head of the B.Des. Communication Design programme at the School of Design, Media & Creative Arts, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). A design educator, visual communication specialist, researcher, and academic leader, she brings nearly a decade of professional experience spanning the advertising industry, design practice, higher education, and academic administration.
She holds a Master’s degree in Visualization from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Applied Art) from Amity University, Noida. Before transitioning into academia, she worked with leading advertising and design agencies, including Soho Square – Ogilvy, Gurgaon, and Treefrogs Design Communications, collaborating on branding and communication projects for nationally recognised brands such as Luminous, Honda, Milo, Adani, Lava, PVR, and Times Card.
As Programme Head, she leads the academic vision for the Communication Design programme, contributing to curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, industry partnerships, experiential learning initiatives, mentorship programmes, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Her research explores the intersection of visual storytelling, branding, cognition, and emotional engagement, with a particular focus on how illustrated narratives influence perception, behaviour, and brand experiences.
Research interests: Visual Communication Design, Branding and Brand Identity Systems, Illustrated Storytelling, Cognitive and Emotional Engagement in Design, Typography, Packaging Design, Design Thinking and Innovation, Semiotics and Visual Culture, Advertising and Strategic Communication, Design Education and Pedagogical Innovation.
