BDes Motion Picture Design

Dr Sujay Nair is a higher education leader and digital transformation specialist with over 30 years of cross-sector experience. Currently Dean and Director at JAIN University (Bangalore), he also serves as Strategic Advisor for Research and International Expansion.
A Naveen Kumar
HoD Department of Design
Naveen Kumar A is the Head of the Department of Design at the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts (SoDMCA), Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, bringing over 16 years of higher education leadership and expertise in curriculum architecture. As a Ph.D. researcher, his scholarly work focuses on developing instructional design models that synthesize adult learning principles (andragogy), OBE metrics, and environmental sustainability across design disciplines.
Yugaraj Harikrishnan
HoD Department of Art and Design and Coordinator Film Making
Yugaraj Harikrishnan brings over 17 years of dynamic experience in the film industry to his role as Head of the Department of Art and Design and Coordinator of Film Making at the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). A storyteller at heart and a technician by craft, he has built a career spanning cinematography, film production, and photography, working across formats and genres while continuing to take on active industry projects even today.
Aditi Dutta
Programme Head BDes Communication Design
Ms. Aditi Dutta is an Assistant Professor and Programme Head of the BDes Communication Design programme at the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). A design educator, visual communication specialist, researcher, and academic leader, she brings nearly a decade of professional experience spanning the advertising industry, design practice, higher education, and academic administration.
Chiranjith Barui
Programme Head BDes and MDes Product Design and IQAC Coordinator
Chiranjith Barui is a Design Educator and Industrial Designer with over 12 years of experience bridging academic excellence and industry innovation. He views design as a powerful embodiment of purpose, intelligence, and emotion, focusing his career on teaching students how to create products that are not only practical and structurally efficient but also capable of evoking positive human experiences.
Kiran Gopinath
Programme Head MDes User Experience Design
Kiran Gopinath is an Industrial Designer, Design Educator, Researcher, and Academician with over 15 years of experience spanning academia, research, and design consultancy. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University and a Postgraduate degree in Industrial Design from IIT Delhi, with areas of expertise including design for special needs, human factors and ergonomics, representation skills, design styling, trend forecasting, and concept design.

Programme Head UI/UX
Suraj D is a passionate professional with a graduate degree in Information Technology and a Master's in Mass Communication and Journalism — a combination that gives him a distinctly interdisciplinary lens on design and technology. Over the past decade, he has immersed himself in various creative and technical domains, honing his skills in visual and graphic design and UI/UX design, while also being actively involved in knowledge sharing, training, and exploring the realm of digital ad innovations.
Hamsalekha Ravi
Programme Head Fashion Design and IQAC Coordinator
Ms. Hamsalekha Ravi holds an M.Sc. in Textile and Apparel Design from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and a B.Sc. in Fashion and Apparel Design from Acharya Institute, Bangalore University. She has 6+ years of professional experience spanning both the apparel industry and higher education. She currently serves as the Program Head – Fashion Design in the Department of Art and Design and as the IQAC Coordinator for the School of Design, Media, and Creative Arts (SoDMCA).
