B.Des
Interaction
Design

Learn to design the way people interact with products, interfaces, services and emerging technologies — from research and systems thinking to UX, UI and digital experiences.

Degree Bachelor of Design
Duration 4 Years / 8 Semesters
Commencement August 2026
Specialisation Interaction Design
01 / Course Overview

Design the interaction,
not just the interface.

Interaction Design explores how people experience and interact with products, interfaces and services. The programme combines research, technology, visual design and human behaviour to create meaningful experiences.

The B.Des in Interaction Design is a four-year Bachelor of Design programme. The first year is dedicated to a common foundation, followed by three years of specialisation in Interaction Design.

Students develop the ability to understand people, investigate problems, design systems and create experiences that respond intelligently to human needs.

Professional electives are aligned with current industry practices, helping students build relevant skills and become industry-ready. The programme also includes a dedicated internship semester, providing hands-on experience in a professional environment.
Built around people

Interaction Design brings together human behaviour, technology, research and creativity to shape how people experience products and services.

02 / Programme

Understand people.
Design what comes next.

The programme develops the foundations for strategic research, interaction design and the development of digital products, services and experiences.

08 / FAQ

Questions,
answered.

A few things students often want to know about Interaction Design.

What is meant by Interaction Design?
Interaction design is the process of creating interfaces and experiences that allow users to interact with products and services in ways that feel intuitive and human.
Is Interaction Design the same as UX Design?
Interaction Design (IxD) is a part of User Experience (UX) Design, but the two are not the same. Interaction Design focuses particularly on how a product responds to user actions and how interactions are structured. It forms an important bridge between the user and the interface.
What is UI and Interaction Design?
User Interface (UI) Design focuses on the visual appearance and feel of a product, while Interaction Design focuses on how users interact with that product. Both contribute to the broader field of User Experience Design.
What is the goal of Interaction Design?
The goal of Interaction Design is to create products and experiences that help users accomplish their goals in an effective, understandable and satisfying way.
What are the 5 dimensions of Interaction Design?
The five dimensions of Interaction Design are words, visual representations, physical objects and space, time, and behaviour.
