Soumi Mondal

Soumi Mondal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts, is an alumna of Kala Bhavan at Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Art and Printmaking, and gained international exposure through the Master’s exchange program ESBA TALM (École Supérieure d’Art et de Design TALM). She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. after qualifying the UGC-NET examination.

Her six years of experience in higher education span Fine Arts, Multimedia, and interdisciplinary Art and Design foundation programmes. Her teaching and studio practice consists of mixed media, illustration, printmaking, experimental painting, and contemporary art practices, with a pedagogical approach that emphasizes research-led practice and the integration of traditional and contemporary artistic methodologies. Her interests lie especially in nurturing holistic thinking, inventive inquiry, and multidisciplinary integration among emerging artists and designers.
